Plovdiv, its culture and history

We can start our day at a nice bakery nearby called "Yes, Cheers. The atmosphere here is very pleasant and the interior is done in light colors. It serves a variety of pastries and desserts, as well as a selection of sandwiches and light snacks, and most importantly they make really great coffee.

We begin our acquaintance with the culture and history of these lands, for which we went to the Ethnographic Museum of the city. Its collection contains about forty thousand different cultural treasures, among which, in particular, there are a variety of household items, tools, jewelry and weapons. The exposition of the museum forms a complete picture of the culture and life of the people who have lived here since time immemorial. It is important to note that the museum is not open on Monday.

Bulgaria is a country known not only for its rich culture and history, but also for its extraordinary nature. It is to the natural diversity of this country that the expositions of the Regional Scientific Museum are devoted. Here you can learn a lot about the plants, fungi and animals of the country, see a variety and unusual amphibians, birds and mammals. Also in the museum there is a hall devoted to space, where you can see in miniature various planets asteroids and much more.

After a long and interesting excursion through the museums of the city, you just need to take a little break. For this you can go to a very good cafe Memory. The interior of this place is made in a cozy and bright style, the atmosphere is quite friendly, and you can spend lunch on a charming terrace in the fresh air. It serves a variety of snacks, salads and Mediterranean dishes.

The second part of our day was planned to visit the most interesting historical sites, and the first thing to do was to go to the ancient theater in Plovdiv. Of course, the scale of this place is very impressive, given the fact that it was built presumably in the second century AD, and its capacity is over five thousand spectators.

The next point of our plan was to visit one of the oldest Christian churches in Plovdiv - the Church of St. Konstantin and St. Elena. The temple is located in the heart of the ancient part of the city. At this place during the time of the Roman Empire was a Christian sanctuary. During its history the church was repeatedly destroyed and restored, and in 1832 it got its present appearance.

Nebet Tepe is a small historical settlement, which according to archaeologists was built about six thousand years ago. It was conquered many times by various rulers, including, in particular, Philip of Macedonia, and later it was taken over by the Roman rulers. Today Nebet Tepe is one of the most important landmarks of the city, with a gorgeous view of Plovdiv itself and some of its surroundings.

When choosing a place for dinner, you should probably choose the Mexican restaurant Sombrero. The atmosphere here is very pleasant, the interior is decorated with photo wallpaper depicting various places. The menu pleases with an abundance of traditional Mexican dishes such as tacos, burritos and tortillas. The large choice of various cocktails is also worth mentioning.

Today was an incredibly varied and interesting day, and unfortunately it gradually came to an end. Many different impressions remained in the memory after a variety of excursions. Tomorrow there will be a trip out of town. Incredible nature and interesting historical structures await us there.
