Panoramic Views From the Top of Preikestolen

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, you'll make your way to one of Norway's most famous hiking destinations, Preikestolen, or Pulpit Rock. You'll begin your hike from Preikestolen Fjellstue.

The hike will take about 4 hours, reaches an elevation of 500 metres, and has a medium difficulty rating. Follow the trail from Preikestolen Fjellstue and once you reach the top, you'll be rewarded with a panoramic view over the Lysefjorden, which was created from Ice Age glaciers.

After your hike, you'll refuel at the Preikestolen Fjellstue Foodhall, located in the mountain lodge area. One of their locally-brewed beers might be calling your name by this point!
There won't be any restaurants for the next part of the drive, but luckily, the base camp is used to this, so pick up some sandwiches (a true Norwegian matpakke or packed lunch) so you can have dinner on the go.

Collect your car and continue driving.

Take a much-deserved break on this ferry ride, which departs from Hjelmeland. Ferries run every 20 minutes and take 10 minutes to cross. Check the timetables here.

You've now reached Nesvik. Be prepared for beautiful rugged terrain and mountain ranges which will surround you on the next part of your journey.

Break up your drive with a quick pitstop at this rocky beach. Take in the serene surroundings with the sky reflecting onto the calm waters and then hop back in for the next part of your trip.

After an hour of driving, you'll stop to admire the cascading Flesåna waterfall in the Brattlandsdalen valley. The rushing waters make for a stunning scene as coming out of the harsh craggy backdrop. Parking lot for cars.

You'll spend the night at Vikinghaug at Odda and will be spoilt with fjord, mountain, glacier, and lake views for days.
