An all-round sustainability enthusiast, I try to travel thoughtfully while respecting both environment and local community as much as possible. Years ago I created and wrote for a travel blog as a hobby, then in 2020 I decided to make my passion for travel my job, becoming a certified Travel Designer and tourism planning expert. I have worked with an important DMC in Southeast Asia and now I am a Travel Consultant for an Italian tour operator. I am also currently living in Tenerife to work on a sustainable project here on the island. My travels are a mix of planning and improvisation, I like studying each destination to find the solutions with the best value for money and I follow my instinct in search of typical dishes and authentic traditions of each place I visit.
An avid lifelong traveler and road trip warrior, when the pandemic shut down international borders, my small family (my partner and two pets) left our Brooklyn life behind for the opportunity to criss-cross the US via some circuitous routes, landing in some remote locations to work remotely for periods of 4 to 8 weeks across the Upper Midwest, Colorado, New Mexico, California, Oregon, Montana, and then some. Based in North Texas for a brief period, we continued to hit the road exploring the greater state of Texas; as well as road tripping to New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast; as well as driving from North Texas to Louisville, Kentucky via Little Rock, Arkansas, and Memphis, and Nashville, Tennessee. During my nearly 15 years of living in New York City, I had plenty of time to plan road trip adventures all throughout New England as well as make the drive between New York and Michigan on several occasions, and south to Maryland and the Greater Washington, D.C., region. Most recently, we road-tripped from New Orleans to Minnesota, more or less following the mighty Mississippi River north through Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa and to its origin in Northern Minnesota, where we presently live on a part-time basis. We anticipate we've driven some 45k miles on road trips across the US, specifically in the past three years alone.
I'm an experienced travel writer specialising in green escapes and family-friendly getaways. All adventures start by stepping out your front door, which is why I'm busy exploring the best of South East England – Kent and Sussex – and the many cultural delights of London.
I travel: since 1990 between emotions, since 2007 between countries, since 2020 within myself. The fascinating experience of bilateral exchange in Buenos Aires confirmed my lifelong desire to make the international context my daily environment. After travelling around Europe for a few years, I followed my growing thirst for discovery that brought me to start backpacking, making travelling my way of life. I then moved from Europe to Thailand where I opened a co-living where young professionals could share and exchange their skills. Today I am living in the Canary Islands where I teach Yoga and I write about travelling and personal development.

In 2019 she was featured as a keynote speaker at the Bali Family Adventure Summit, a week-long venture for traveling families seeking educational alternatives. A member of the Luena Foundation, an NGO providing critical services to vulnerable children, she formerly held the position of Staff Writer and Copy Editor of the family travel magazine “Everywhere”. Darcy is deeply committed to education equality with a focus on LGBTQ issues and her humanitarian aid work has brought her to the front lines of the refugee crisis in Greece and Turkey. Travelling is my first love, followed by history, literature and good food. I like to combine everything on my travels. I want to get the best out of what the world has to offer.
I have traveled (solo!) throughout the United States (including Alaska and Hawai'i), Europe, Central America, and South/Southeast Asia. I lived in Central Europe while I was a Fulbright Fellow and lived and worked throughout Western Europe! I have lived on every coast in the United States and have traveled to each state at least once.

Working as a freelance copywriter to combine the things I love to do most: writing, traveling and running (random order ;)). Discovering new places leads to the best inspiration and running leads to cool new places do discover, so I call that my circle of life. I love city trips, holidays in nature and of course road trips!
