The Royal Alcázar of Seville, historically known as al-Qasr al-Muriq. Now commonly known as the Alcázar of Seville, the royal palace was built in 913 AD by the Caliph of Córdoba, Abdurrahman III an-Nasir after ordering extensions on a pre-existing Roman building. This complex is a great reflection of how Islamic and Christian architecture has produced a beautiful and very unique historical landmark worthy of being called a World Heritage Site. It was listed by UNESCO in the year of 1987. One of the many highlights of the Alcázar is the lush gardens that are home to beautiful and fragrant flowers, which make for an all-around unforgettable experience. It is the oldest royal palace still made use in Europe. On the top floors of the Alcázar, Spain's Royal family stays in the private apartments whenever they visit the Andalusian city.
