Exploring the Wine Region

Start your day with a visit to Loggia del Lionello, one of the oldest historic buildings in Udine. It was built in the central city square and named after Nicolò Lionello, a well-known Italian architect of the fifteenth century. It’s famous for the elegance of the central balcony, as well as the windows and columns of the main facade, belonging to the Venetian Gothic style. Take several photos of this remarkable building before leaving the city. If you want, you can also spend some time walking around the town freely.

There’s an exiting trip to the commune of Cividale del Friuli ahead! The density of wineries is higher than in the well-known Tuscany. You’ll visit the best wineries in this region today. First, head to Zorzettig, located on the top of the mountain of the same name. There’s an enormous collection of wines, which you’re allowed to taste during the visit.
