Alberobello and Trulli

Alberobello, known as the town of the Trulli, a very famous UNESCO site with the characteristic cone-shaped country houses, is one of the places you cannot miss on your tour if you come to Apulia. Every year the town attracts many tourists from all over the world, who crowd the streets of the historic centre with a look of wonder and happiness.

The Casa d'Amore is the first building from the royal era, since during the reign of Ferdinand IV of Bourbon in the 18th century it was forbidden to construct permanent buildings as ordered by the local nobility. This building, located in Piazza Ferdinando IV, was built by the owner Francesco D'Amore in 1797 with the use of mortar, which would be the material with which the famous Trulli would be built in later times.
