Make a stop near historic Fort Steuben in Steubenville. You'll see a reconstructed 18th-century military fort in a beautiful setting along the beautiful Ohio River. This military fort was modeled after the original fort that was built on this very site back in 1787 to protect the surveyors of the Northwest Territory. At Fort Steuben, you'll see an exhibit, see 8 historic old buildings, stroll through a beautiful garden, and visit the 1801 Federal Land Office.
The fort is open daily from May to October, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The visitor center and museum store with original souvenirs are open year-round from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., except on holidays.
A mask is required to visit.

You'll find yourself in the countryside, where people live as they did in the 18th century. And you can get a glimpse behind the scenes of interesting farm life.
This is Holmes County, also called Dutch County. Here you'll travel back in time and experience Amish culture. You'll find Amish farm produce shops, authentic restaurants and bakeries with local baked goods, charming animal farms, an Amish country theater, antique craft stores, and the Scenic Hills Campground.
Stroll the winding streets among the old buildings, buy cheeses at local cheese shops, taste delicious Amish country food, experience country life at small farms and homesteads, visit antique stores, stables, ride horses and see how the combine works.
