Todai-ji Temple (東大寺)
The temple was built in 752 by order of Emperor Shomu, and was to head all the Buddhist temples in Japan. Its main hall, Daibutsuden, is the home of the famous Great Buddha of Nara. The statue, which is 15 meters high, weighs about 25 tons.
