Visit Three Beautiful Perched Villages

Before reaching the first village Falicon, you can stop here to see this nice waterfall. It is only 15 minutes drive from Nice and yet, it is already another world in the countryside. It is already pretty high and you will get a beautiful view of the surroundings with the Mediterranean sea in the background.

The first perched village you will visit is Falicon. This church of the Nativity of the Virgin has a fine trompe-l'oeil façade and is decorated inside with Baroque style. Walk around this charming village and enjoy a beautiful panorama on Nice from plateau Bellevue where you can sit under a century-old oak tree to appreciate the atmosphere. Queen Victoria enjoyed visiting this village in her carriage to enjoy the peaceful afternoons and have her tea in the hills of Nice. The square "Place du thé de la Reine" commemorates these visits. The writer Jules Romain also fell in love with Falicon, and that is where he set part of his novel "La douceur de la vie".
