Zvenigorod town is a historical place. It was built at the turn of the XII-XIII centuries and was a residence of Zvenigorod princes. From Ivan Kalita's chronicle decree of 1399, one can learn that there was a fortified fortress on the territory. The Kremlin was needed for protection from Tatar and Mongol armies on the approaches to Moscow.
Later on Yuri Donskoy (son of Dmitry) built eight-meter earth ramparts with a clay surface around the walls of the town, built several corner towers with loopholes, a wooden princely tower and the white-stone Assumption Cathedral.
Assumption Cathedral is an example of the classic old Russian style. Its main feature is the frescos of the interior walls made by the famous Andrei Rublev and his students.
Today the traveler can see only the ramparts and the Assumption Cathedral. The cathedral is open on the days of services, their schedule can be clarified in advance on website.

Savvin-Storozhevsky monastery was founded in the late XIV century by St. Savva, a disciple of St. Sergius of Radonezh. It is believed that it was to this monastery that Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich granted for the first time the status of laurel. On the territory of the monastery there are functioning temples, the palace of Alexei Mikhailovich of the XVII century and the Tsaritsyna chamber. In the latter you can see the restored interiors of the boyars' chambers, household items, fabrics, women's jewelry of the XVII century and tiled stoves. Also at the monastery there is a library with the fund of 6.5 thousand volumes.

On 17 September 2005, on the day of the 853rd anniversary of the city foundation, a monument to Reverend Savva Storozhevsky and Prince Yuri Zvenigorodsky was unveiled. They are considered key personalities in the development of the city.

A monument to the great writer was unveiled on the 150th anniversary of Chekhov's birth. In 1884, after graduating from the medical faculty, Chekhov began working as a Zemstvo doctor in Zenigorod hospital. A number of works were written on the basis of Zenigorod impressions: "Surgery", "Dead Body", "Serena", "In Court", "At the Opening".

The monument and the Eternal Flame are located in the park. It is dedicated to Zenigorod residents who have fallen for their homeland and to the soldiers of the 5th Army of the Western Front. 1941–1945. In 1941 the city residents defended the western borders of the country and the approaches to Moscow.
