You arrive here at dawn - you can start your walk straight away to this unusual site. The abandoned marble quarry is a large T-shaped amphitheatre, extending in depth, with the height of steps about one metre. The landmark for the route is the village of Shipunikha. If you do not have an off-road vehicle and the road is heavily snow-covered or washed out, it is best to walk the last part of the route.
You will soon pass the last house in the village on your left (10A) after crossing Shipunikha River. You can leave your car there or go further if the road is suitable. At the fork you turn left into the guardhouse. Further along you will find the active crushed stone quarry and BelAZ trucks are constantly driving along the road. Leave the car and walk around, along the next road.

In summer there is a lot of traffic here. A lot of people come here for recreation, swimming and fishing. In winter, there's hardly anyone to be seen here, apart from those who love the unusual. Whether it's frozen or already thawed, the walk is worth it!
You will come by car to Belovo village, and then you will take an unpaved road to the waterfall. Most likely, you won't be able to pass it by usual car, that's why you have to make time for walking.

On the way home, you can make a stop at the spring. By the way, you can take a container with you and take water home.
On the basement of the church in honor of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Church of the Russian Church in Iskitim there is a museum of memory of victims of political repressions. The church itself is erected in the microdistrict of Lozhok, where from 1929 to 1956 one of the most horrible GULAG camps was located, the Penal Separate Camp Point (PSP) #4.
In the "death camp" the prisoners mined stone and fired limestone by hand - not everyone stood the ordeal of hellish labor and hunger. The museum has over a hundred exhibits: photographs, documents, and material evidence of the prisoners. Near the church there is a holy spring. According to legend, it was struck at the site of the mass execution of the camp priests in the 40s.

Iskitim is a small town, but the majestic St. Nicholas Church is admirable.
Its history dates back to 1862. In the only church for several villages served about five thousand people - the parish was not poor. After the revolution the church was closed. The new building of the church that you see today, was built by 2013: the construction took 24 years.
