Travel Itinerary and Road Trip Route

Day 1: An evening in Charlotte

We arrive in Charlotte, walk around the evening city and have dinner at the grill restaurant.

Romare Bearden Park

Romare Bearden Park is perfect for a winter evening stroll. In the dark, coloured lighting is switched on and during the Christmas season thematic installations are placed here.

The Capital Grille

One of the best restaurants in Charlotte territory, according to visitors' reviews. Here you can have grilled meat, fish, seafood, and vegetables. Be sure to try the desserts, they are very tasty here.

Day 2: Indian traditions

Let's take a car ride through the national park and immerse ourselves in the traditions of the Native Americans in the village of Cherokee.

Amelie's French Bakery — Uptown

The interior of this bakery is a miracle! So many decorative elements and small details. Looks even strange, but very nice. We had breakfast cakes with coffee and picked up sandwiches and baked for the road.

Pisgah National Forest

The national parks around Charlotte are interesting to visit even in winter, with mountain views, frozen lakes and icy stalactite-like waterfalls.

Museum of the Cherokee Indian

The Indian village of Cherokee has something to do any time of year. You can just look at museum collections, or take part in a master class on making traditional dishes, buy some handmade souvenirs and just walk along the river.

Granny's Kitchen

The food is simple but tasty, the portions are not small. Really, the impression of coming to visit my grandmother.

Day 3: Another road to Charlotte.

Back to Charlotte. On the way we will stop to see frozen waterfalls, where the most daring and sporty can try themselves as a conqueror of the peaks, walk on the snowy shore of the lake, take a photo against the background of a giant peach, and look at the local outlet village. The final evening in Charlotte we'll spend in the beer garden.

Catawba Falls

Catawba Falls is a popular place for fans of winter hiking. If you want not only to admire the landscape of frozen waterfalls from afar, but also to climb on snowy stone ledges, it is worth choosing a special non-slip winter shoes.

Lake Lure, NC

Now let's take a walk on the snowy lakeshore. Ate in the snow, small houses, silhouettes of mountains - a very nice picture.

Peachoid, The Gaffney Peach

Do you have a photo with a giant peach? I do now!

Gaffney Outlet Marketplace

We will be in the city soon. On your way back, you can have a stop at the outlet village for both shopping and quick lunch.

First Ward Park

To gain some appetite, walk in the city park before going to dinner and celebration of this amazing weekend trip!

VBGB Beer Hall & Garden/Restaurant

Is garden dinner a good idea for a cold season? Of course, if it's a beer garden! This is your final evening in Charlotte, so have fun, taste the local beer and enjoy your dinner.

Day 4: Classical and contemporary art

There's not much time left, but it can be usefully spent as well. I suggest visiting the Mint Museum.

Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits

Breakfasts for all tastes: for fans of healthy eating, for those who prefer juicy burgers. Please note that the cafe is only open on weekdays. If this is your case, you may want to stroll just 300 metres E M.L.K. Jr Blvd to the Mellow Mushroom restaurant.

Mint Museum UPTOWN

Art is so fascinating, and not always understandable. In this museum, you can see exhibits reflecting the culture of the peoples of America, Europe and Asia. There is a large collection of classic sculpture and paintings, as well as unusual household items. And those who are fans of modern authors will surely like the installations, some of which are interactive.
