Manchester for fans of The Smiths

Manchester is home to the famous Salford Lads Club (SLC). Today it is run entirely by volunteers and offers a variety of leisure activities including football, volleyball, boxing and dancing. The club was founded as far back as 1903. Since then it has had around 22,500 members, among them Manchester United footballer Eddie Coleman, who was tragically killed at the age of 21 in a plane crash in Munich in February 1958.
