Exploring the Beauty and Nature of Central Balkan

The Central Balkan region is the third-largest protected territory of Bulgaria. It is home to some of the richest plant and wildlife in all of Europe. From beech forests, to lakes and waterfalls, the landscape here is incredibly diverse. The best time to visit the Balkan is around May. When the snow has melted and everything is starting to come to life again. It is truly a magical time to explore this part of Bulgaria. Today you will visit some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Balkan region. There are numerous different trails that can be taken from here, so feel free to explore the area.
Make sure you bring your hiking gear and camera, not to miss the incredible views for memories.

The route towards the waterfalls follows a dirt road, which is normally accessible by car and foot. However, over the past year, the road has been closed for vehicles, so double-check if you are allowed to enter the area with a car if you choose to do so. If not, you can park your car here and continue towards the waterfalls by foot. Personally, I believe it is the best way to truly enjoy the beauty and nature of the Balkan region.
