XVII century manor house, waterfalls and attractions of Kaluga

The estate museum is located in an ancient landscape park with 7 cascade ponds. The manor house was built in the XVIII century in Baroque style. At that time the manor belonged to Catherine II's favorite A.S. Vasilchikov. Later the history of the manor became closely connected with the Pushkin, Goncharov and Lansky families. Once it even had the names "Goncharov House" and "Pushkin's Nest". The interiors of the estate were recreated as they were seen by the descendants of Alexander Pushkin in the second half of the XIX century. There is a church of the end of XVII century on the territory of the estate. Next to it there is a necropolis, where the poet's descendants are buried. In 1917, business correspondence and the unfinished manuscript of "The History of Peter" were found in the estate. The museum hosts historical interactive programmes. The museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday. The last Friday of the month is a health day.
