You don't have to fly to the edge of the world to see something inspiring and unusual. There are many curious places around Kaluga. This two-day trip will allow you to look at your native land from the other side and realize that human imagination and possibilities are truly limitless.
On the first day of the trip you will see a pagan temple, visit the first nuclear power plant in the world and take a walk around the once majestic estate of Count Vorontsov in Obninsk. Cherry on the cake - Museum of Garbage "MU MU", the only and unique.
Start your journey by refueling at Gazprom Neft filling stations, grab coffee and fresh pastries on the way to make your trip more comfortable!
In a field near the village of Krasotynki you can find bizarre structures made of wood - a pagan temple (temple). The reconstructions in the complex under construction are dedicated to the customs of the Slavs of VIII-XIII centuries. In addition to the treasury of Perun, the complex has already arranged a place of worship of ancestors and the temple of Fire Svarozhicha - the Eastern Slavs before the adoption of Christianity deified fire. You can visit the complex free of charge, but by obligatory preliminary agreement in [VKontakte group](https://vk.com/krasotynka).
Don't miss the chance to visit the world's first nuclear power plant. It was put into operation in 1954 in Obninsk and served accident-free for 48 years (18 years longer than planned). Since 2009, the Nuclear Power Museum has been working at the NPP. During the excursion you will walk past the measuring devices, see the costumes of radiation protection, look into the office of the station chief and look through the guest book with autographs of Yuri Gagarin, Ho Chi Minh and other cult personalities. [Museum](http://www.aes1.ru/contact) is free, but it's not easy to get there. Only groups of 15 people or more are allowed into the building, and it is quite difficult for a traveler to join someone else's group. In order to guarantee access to the museum, it is better to contact the administration at least one week before the planned trip, the website provides telephone numbers and a form of communication via e-mail.
For lunch, check out [Balzamin](https://www.instagram.com/balzam.in/). Cute interior in eclectic style, simple home-cooked meals, fast service - not without reason the restaurant is considered one of the best in Obninsk.
The dominant manor ensemble in Belkinsky Park is a brick house, built by Count I.I. Vorontsov at the end of the XVIII century. This outstanding monument of early classicism has long ago turned into ruins, but it still looks large and majestic. The park around [Manor](http://fondbelkino.ru/) is landscaped with paths and bridges, benches and lanterns. In the winter, there is a rental of pond toys on the pond shore.
The next point of our unusual journey will be the Garbage Museum "MU MU" - the first and only one in Russia. Its exhibits are made of different junk: it turned out creatively and with humor. The museum also has a very specific message - careful treatment of nature and ecology, collection and recycling of recyclable materials. From Friday to Sunday [museum](https://art-mumu.ru/) is open until 19:00, on other days it closes an hour earlier. Monday is a day off.
For dinner and overnight we go to the glorious Serpukhov. We will visit one of his best restaurants - ["Kitchen Market"](http://grig-group.ru/restaurants/kitchen-market/). It is located in the heart of the city, under the ruins of the Kremlin. Stylish interior with good music, small (which is a plus!) menu, all with dust and heat - you will love it!
On the second day of the trip you will visit a bison nursery and a fashionable art space created on the site of an abandoned farm. And in the afternoon, stop by Tula's old pharmacy to learn how the witch doctors worked and discover the secrets of the pharmacists' work.
It's a great trip, isn't it? And to make it dynamic, come to the Gazpromneft filling station, take water and a snack.
Bison and bison live in [Prioksko-Terrasny Reserve](https://pt-zapovednik.ru/) in conditions as close to natural as possible, and they are separated from visitors by a high net. The only way to get to the animals is with a guide. From Monday to Friday excursions are formed at 11:00; 13:00 and 15:00. On weekends and holidays of the group - every hour from 09:00 to 16:00. And after the walk, drop by the charming museum for half an hour to get acquainted with the inhabitants of forests in this area.
If you've never been to a gym, it's time to fix it. The menu at Café ["Mark and Lion"](https://www.markilev.ru/kalachnaya/) is based on branded wholemeal kalachas with the most unexpected fillings, such as duck stew or catfish. Besides kalachas, soups, dumplings and dumplings are served here. The owners assure them that the products are supplied exclusively by local farmers. We're willing to believe!
Melnica Space" complex appeared on the place of closed creative art space "Archfarm". Even before there was a huge farm with cowsheds, barns and silo towers. In "Melnica Space" large-scale graffiti is adjacent to unusual art objects, and all this in the middle of endless fields. The place is peculiar and incredibly soulful. Seminars, dance meetings, gastronomic festivals, master classes and much more are held here. Even if no event is supposed to happen on this day, it's still worth a look here, at least for atmospheric images. You can find detailed information about the events [here](https://melnicaspace.ru/).
And here we are in Tula! The city is full of interesting places, look at the old pharmacy in Tula. It is located in a beautiful building of the end of the XIX century. The pharmacy opened by collegiate counselor Ferdinand Belyavsky was one of the most popular: it operated until 2011. Now it is a museum. You can see old pharmacy utensils, scales, doctors' tools, a microscope, medicine packaging from the 19th century and much more. [Museum](https://wiki-tula.ru/muzei/staraya-tulskaya-apteka/) is small but very atmospheric - you can also visit it with a guide or audio guide. The museum welcomes visitors from Wednesday to Sunday.
On the agenda of the evening - a delicious dinner at the Tula restaurant ["Peter Petrovich"](http://www.petrpetrovich.ru/). The institution was named after Dr. Belousov, on whose initiative at the end of the XIX century on the site of the dump was laid out a picturesque park, where the restaurant is located. There is a brewery on the ground floor of the building. By the way, the first one in Tula: it has been working since 2011 and brews 5 classic beers. The menu is varied - steaks, soups, grilled meat, ice cream of own production. For a company of 2-4 people you can take a duck with baked potatoes or catfish with vegetable salad.
