    Vineyards of the South and the Crown Jewel of Bonifacio

    Le Lion de Roccapina - U Lionu di Roccapina

    Between Propriano and Bonifacio, after driving for an hour you will arrive at this magnificent stop popular with most people visiting Corsica and travelling on this road. The lion of Roccapina is a head of a lion carved into the rock by entirely natural elements. How amazing!
    Simply, this detour is worth it, and a perfect spot to take a photo. While you are at this spot, you will find numerous parking spots and you will also get a great vantage point of the underlying beautiful bay.

    Citadelle de Bonifacio

    Every city or town has that one attraction that adds fame to it. And for the Southern city of Corsica, Bonifacio, the Citadel is it!
    It is simply the unrivalled crown jewel of Bonifacio — serving endless breathtaking views. Once you take the steep walk to the top of the Citadel, you are assured to be amazed. There are many winding streets, a very picturesque, a cemetery and a lot of restaurants for you to enjoy.
    Take the fifteen minutes walk and arrive here. You are going to spend an hour here.
    Bonifacio city has a rich history of war. It was named after Lord Boniface who personally put up the Citadel as a fortification to drive the adversaries out. It is rumoured he was born here.
    While here, learn as much history of this amazing place as you can - there are a lot of thrilling stories from medieval times you will surely enjoy!
    The citadel will surely amaze you. It is the landmark of the city and was once one of the most important fortresses in all of the Mediterranean region.

    DA ROCCA

    After the citadel visit, you will take a short walk to the Da Rocca Bonifacio; another amazing spot for food and culinary exploration in this amazing Southern city!

    Escalier du Roy d'Aragon - Scala di u Rè d'Aragonu

    One of the most picturesque sites that holds a lot of Corsica history from medieval times is the Stairway of King Aragon.
    These are 187 steps, carefully curved into the stone to make one of the most challenging climbs you will have in years. It is worth it though, as the sight and experience itself are breathtaking.
    You are going to take this climb and spend an hour here immediately after lunch.
    Myth has it that the 187 stairs were dug by hand one night by King Aragon's men. While you descend these stairs, enjoy the boat views and the expanse of the ocean in front of you. Note that you will pay a small fee, but it's all worth it.
    Note that you need flat shoes or closed shoes. Open shoes and flip-flops are not allowed. on the stairway
