Polignano a dream come true

We will conclude our tour with a postcard of Puglia..Polignano a mare. A visit to this town alone makes a trip to Puglia an opportunity not to be missed.
On this last day we will first visit the historic center and a splendid abbey directly overlooking the sea.
In the afternoon we will take you to discover the sea caves with a boat ride among the most beautiful and in the evening .. last but not least .. a dinner in one of the most romantic and evocative "Grotta Palazzese" restaurants.

A few kilometers from Polignano a Mare is the Abbey of San Vito. It is an Abbey facing the sea built close to a small port. An ancient legend tells of a noblewoman of Salerno saved from drowning by San Vito who would have asked her to have her body transferred to the Polymnianense castrum in Puglia. The holy relics made the sacred place prosperous and the abbey was thus founded around the 10th century, thanks to a community of Basilian monks who were later succeeded by Benedictines. Even if the Abbey cannot be visited today, it is certainly worth coming here to enjoy the landscape and take some photos.
