Tanais, Malinky bird park, entertainment in Shakhty

"Tanais" today is one of the largest archaeological museum-reserves in Russia. In winter there are almost no visitors in the open-air museum, so you can wander in silence through the excavations and study the reconstruction of ancient huts.
By appointment you can get to individual 45-minute classes with a master - for example, to try weaving belts from thread or weaving by ancient technology.

Malinky Bird Park is the largest bird park in southern Russia. It is home to about a thousand exotic birds and animals. At the entrance you can buy a set of fruit and vegetables to feed the pets. A nice bonus is that birthday kids get in for free. You can buy tickets on the website.

Send the kids to the center's huge play area "Vulcan", while you relax in the cafe with a cup of tea. Slides, pools with balls, mazes, trampolines - young children will be just happy and will want to stay here longer!

If you still have strength, check out the "Shakhtinets" ice palace. Up to 100 people can be on the 1500 square meter ice rink at a time. By the way, you can rent skates.
