Museum-Reserve "Tanais", Azov, Alexandrovsky forest, Yeisk

"Tanais" today is one of the largest archaeological museum-reserves in Russia. In winter there are almost no visitors here, so you can wander in silence through the excavations and study the reconstruction of ancient huts and historical costumes.
By appointment you can get to individual 45-minute classes with a master, such as trying to weave belts from thread or weaving with ancient technology.

Before the next point of the trip you need a good refreshment. Visit one of the coziest places in Azov "Vot pancake da coffee". The assortment of dishes is not very large, but everything is cooked with heart, and the prices are definitely pleasing.

Azov fortress is interesting to walk at any time of year, even in winter. The fort traces its history back to 1475, when the Turks conquered the town of Tana (where you were two hours ago).
From the once large-scale construction remained Alexeev gate and a fragment of the rampart up to 15 meters high. From the rampart of the fortress there is a beautiful view of the Don and the river port.

From Azov, hurry up to Alexandrovsky forest, the largest artificial forest in the Rostov region. It was broken back in 1884.
It's not just a forest, it's a real deer country! You don't have to climb into the thicket to meet deer: they roam everywhere. It's true that animals don't want to get close - so admire shy creatures from far away. There's also a pheasanarium and a mini-zoo with charming rabbits in the forest.

For dinner drop in at Café Sicilia in Yei, which will please you with an excellent choice of Italian, Japanese and Russian dishes. All kinds of pizza (including original variations with zucchini), fresh salads and soups - all family members will be equally satisfied!

After dinner, you can visit the Chunga-Changa Children's Play Center. This complex is ahead of similar establishments in Krasnodar and Rostov in terms of infrastructure and level on a head. You can judge for yourself: 1000 square meters of entertainment for children, animators, modern playgrounds for recreation - and while the children are partying on the slides, parents have some time to relax over a cup of tea in the cafe.
