The Catedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Pilgrim in Trani, Apulia, south-eastern Italy. Formerly the seat of the archbishop of Trani, it is now that of the archbishop of Trani-Barletta-Bisceglie. Consecrated in 1143, is one of the main examples of Apulian Romanesque architecture. It was built using the local stone of Trani, typical of the region: a calcareous tuff, obtained from the caves of the city, characterised by its colour, an extremely light pink, almost white. The cathedral is distinguished by its showy transept and by its use of the high pointed arch in the passage beneath the bell tower, which is unusual in Romanesque architecture.

Stop at the Scolanova Synagogue. It a splendid example of Apulian Romanesque in the Jewish quarter of Trani and it is still today an important place of worship for the Jewish community. It is located in the heart of Trani. Together with the Synagogue, the Sant'Anna Museum represents an important testimony of the ancient Jewish quarter of the city. It has a double level rectangular plan with barrel vaulting, a "chiancarelle" style roof amd mullioned windows, common elements is civil style buildings and in medieval European Synagogues. The building faces east, towards Jerusalem. The Aron-ha-qodesh, the holy arch and the cabinet where the Torah is kept are found on the upper level. The aron had to have a set of stairs to allow convenient access to the scrolls. The central niche still retains the jambs of the wooden shutters and the hinges carved into the wall. There are no traces of the bimah, the puplit where the rabbi and the cantor would pray, read bibical texts, preach and sing. The staircase, now giving access to the room on the upper foor of the synagogue, was clearly of later costruction Beneath, a spacious curved arch constituted the original entrance. Here, the precence of a room suggests a miqweh, area used for ritual bathing.

On the 2nd floor of the building, dedicated to permanent exhibitions, there is the “Ivo Scaringi” Art Gallery which collects, in addition to the paintings of the master Scaringi, also other works owned by the municipality.
