Shamanka Rock, Sarai Beach, and vast expanses

Every self-respecting traveler dreams of visiting the Shaman-cliff (or Cape Burkhan). Legend has it that it is the dwelling place of the island's spirit named Khan Hute-Babai. In his honor, there are 13 sacred poles erected on the cape. The place of unbelievable beauty and power where one wishes to be silent and to contemplate. It is better to do it in the morning, before the cape is attacked by crowds of tourists.

I bet you had no idea that the beaches on Olkhon are so cool? Although Sarai beach is not equipped, it looks like from "Bounty" chocolate ad, only framed by pine trees instead of palm trees. The beach stretches for 3 kilometers, and in some places it reaches a kilometer in width, so you're sure to find a secluded place for a relaxing vacation.
If you walk along the beach to the north, you'll see how nature struggles for life.
You can walk down the slope to the beach (steep enough, but accessible to everyone) along the shore or walk through the village. This will bring you to the beginning of the built ecological trail and you can walk along the wooden planking. Along the way you will come across information boards.
I would choose the second option, because Khuzhir village itself is no less colorful place, which is definitely worth seeing if this is your first time on the island.

For lunch, stop by the Omulovaya Bochka café. Here you can order ukha, sagudai or fish poses. And at the end of your meal try taiga dessert with fragrant special tea made of local herbs.

Go back to the hotel to get some rest and pick up the car.

Next we suggest that you explore the island a little by car. Let's call it testing the local roads.
On the way to the cape you will pass the village of Harantsy, which is much less touristy than Khuzhir. It still preserves the way of life of local, indigenous people.
On the cape you have an incredible view of the lake - this is the part called Little Sea, the opposite shore and the island, whose name is consonant with the name of the cape and the village.
It is believed that the island and the cape are connected by an underwater spit, they say, you can even walk across the water - but we have not tried... The water is very cold, we do not advise you too. In addition, the island of Harantsy is a nesting place for gulls (the same ones you fed on the ferry) - if a person once touches a chick, its parents will never take the babies back.
Keep in mind, there are no clear roads on the island, so after leaving the main highway, choose the best quality sections of the road.

Enjoying a wonderful day in the middle of a vast field with Baikal turning blue in the distance is priceless. Go explore Cape Nyrgansky and the surrounding beauty. Cinematic landscapes, silence and the opportunity to feel the power of nature await you here again.

Today we offer you to have dinner not far from your hotel - at the restaurant of hotel "Villa Malina". They say about Olkhon that there is no service here, but this hotel is an exception. There are wonderful staff and delicious food here. On the menu you will find both European and local dishes. Be sure to try the omul sagudai (it's Baikal fish with onions and spices) and order boiled potatoes and warm buns with butter to go with it. It's incredibly delicious!
