There are so many wonderful towns to explore in Tuscany, and luckily San Miniato is positioned on the path to Pisa. Park at Belvedere car park for some top-notch views of the landscape from the height of the hilltop town.

A walk around the Diocese of San Miniato is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Set in the rolling hills of Tuscany, the town and its surroundings are a unique blend of past and present, tradition and modernity. Take a stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets, and you’ll be surrounded by stunning historic architecture that provides a glimpse into Italy’s past.

This stop takes you right into the centre of the gorgeous little commune town, Pontedera. Head to Andrea da Pontedera, located in the central Piazza, for a strategic spot for exploring the old town. Wander through the tight streets, take some pics and stretch your legs before you arrive in Pisa.

You will park your car here. It is not far from the historical centre of Pisa, so you will have a short walk to it.

Without messing around, I'm sure you're keen to get stuck into the excitement of Pisa, so it's time to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Famous around the world for its quirky lean, this monument was previously known as the Tower of Pisa before its foundation slightly gave way and created this beautiful accident. Even without its angle, the tower is an absolutely gorgeous feat of architecture, with unique pillars connecting each level.
It's free to wander around the area, so make you spend time soaking up the iconic experience and capture some silly and fun photos holding it up. You can also climb the tower for a small fee paid at the ticket office, but keep in mind the tower is closed for entrance on Mondays.

One of the best things about travelling in Italy is that you can indulge in an abundance of Pizza and it counts as cultural exploration! So for lunch, head to one of Pisa's best - Pizzeria II Quarto Giusto Pisa. Whatever toppings you love, you'll find the right one for you here, all handmade with delicious and traditional crust.
No need to make a booking, just pop in, place an order and grab a seat among the crowd. They're not open on Saturday or Sunday, so if you're visiting on the weekend, check out one of the many other Pizzerias on the street, each as authentic as the next.

Walk to Ponte di Mezzo, a bridge that crosses the Arno River for some fantastic views. Once you cross the bridge you can walk down the side of the river until you cross the next bridge and loop back. This route showcases some of the natural scenery of Pisa, where wonderful house blocks and terraces meet the calm river.

It was quite the walk, right? Now you've earned some gelato! Luckily, one of the best gelaterias in Pisa is right down the road and along the way to our next stop. Grab yourself a treat from Tuffo 13 gelateria and sit down to enjoy the view over the Arno River. They have a massive mix of fresh classics to original flavours, so you'll find your next favourite ice cream here. Just keep in mind that Tuffo 13 is closed on Mondays.

It's time to check out another monument, this time it's one of Pisa's best-kept secrets. This enchanting chapel has been standing for centuries—it was built in 1325 and showcases some charming features of ancient architecture.

After a rich day full of sightseeing and walking it's time to settle in for a long dinner. Try La Ghiotteria for its authentic atmosphere and alfresco dining. Start by grabbing a table outside where you'll rub shoulders with the locals and you can enjoy an Aperol Spritz or Tuscan wine. When you're ready for dinner, you have plenty of wonderful Tuscan food choices, so if you're pizza-ed out go for pasta or risotto.
