Connecting fronts and seas

The journey starts in Volgograd. Ahead there are 3 days full of impressions. It's better to leave in the morning to have time for everything.

This was a turning point in the fighting and the beginning of the liberation of the city from enemy troops.

It is hard to imagine that the idea of a canal goes back to the 16th century. It was then that the Turkish sultan ordered the canal to be dug, but they failed. According to the chroniclers, the Turks left, saying: "Even all the Turkish people can't do anything here in 100 years".
The second attempt to build it was made during the reign of Peter I, but even then failed. The canal was built only in 1952. After several dozens of unsuccessful projects and the Great Patriotic War.

There are hundreds of miles ahead, so it's worth filling up and taking something to eat along the way.

The exhibitions are devoted to different subjects: picture gallery, nature and archeology of the region, history of the people, everyday life of the Cossacks, Soviet power and the Great Patriotic War.

It's about time to take a little break and have lunch. The cafe has a varied menu, mostly of Russian cuisine. You can sit at a table in the open air.

There is a legend that a highly developed civilization existed between the Volga and the Don rivers before the Atlanteans, and these hills with their melted stones are the remains of an ancient cosmodrome. People come here to get rid of negative thoughts and to find peace. The stones are warm, nobody knows their exact origin. Someone has found a place of power here for himself. It may not be possible to get close to the hills by car and you will have to walk on foot.

It was time for a good rest after the long journey and to get ready for the second day of the journey.
