Mines of Mazarrón
Want to see an abandoned mine that worked more than 100 years ago? This mining complex looks like a small ghost town.

It is advisable not to stray from the main road as there are many shafts still uncovered.
The complex is large, but in about 45 minutes you can see the most important sights. Then you have to walk back to the car park.

Castillitos Military Battery
A site that not even many Spaniards know about and which is of great attraction for lovers of modern history. During the 1930s, this castle-like military fortification was built on top of the cliff to defend the bay of Cartagena during the civil war. In 1994, it ceased to be a military base.
Access is free, and it is surprisingly well-kept on the outside, with huge cannons pointing out to the sea that are still in perfect condition. The views from the military fortification over the bay are truly impressive.
After the visit and after a short walk, you will arrive at the car park to continue your way.
