    Exploring the Sierra del Rincón in the North of Madrid

    Today you are going to discover the famous Black Towns in the north of Madrid, in a region called Sierra del Rincón, and why they bear that name. You will feel the magic in the Montejo beech forest, and you will walk through Buitrago de Lozoya and the Medieval castle and walls in this incredible town.

    Your first stop is this little village, where you will find out why these villages are called 'Black towns.' The truth is, they are all built with black slate!
    In the higher part of the village, you can see old traditional constructions: where the flock was kept, where the cereal was sown, and where the crops were prepared.

    So small, so unknown, and so beautiful, that's how it is Horcajuelo de la Sierra. The last Black Town on your itinerary is a jewel, where you will be able to visit an old traditional house and an old forge and learn about the blacksmith's work.
