The Beaujolais vineyards north of Lyon will be the stars of this day as you explore by car and bike. The region produces an astonishing quantity of wine every year – over 190 million bottles – and you will have the opportunity to sample some of your own today (and buy more for later!).
When you tire of biking, vineyards and wine (is it possible?) there's also time to do a little castle gazing as the small, but quite hilly region boasts more Châteaux than Bordeaux.
