Schliersee is an Alpine getaway tucked away in Upper Bavaria. Go for a walk along the promenade and take your Instagram-worthy photos.
While it's possible to walk around the entire lake, but it's suggested just doing a short 45-minute walk since there's so much more things to do during the day.
Alternatively, you could also cool off with a swim on a warm day. With its crystal-clear waters, you also can explore the area by kayaking, canoeing or motorboating!

From here, you'll go up the mountain in a chairlift to the Schliersberg Alm hotel for stunning views. Once you're there, you'll find a restaurant if you want a snack. There's also a swimming pool, playground and mini golf.
The real highlight is riding down on a mountain roller coaster, called Rodelbahn! It's a unique, fun experience that you'll never forget!
If the mountain roller coaster looks like too much of an adventure for you, it is also possible to take the chairlift or walk down (~30 minutes).

Take a journey back in time and explore the Markus Wasmeier Open-Air Museum. Here, you can explore a re-created Bavarian village of the 18th century!
Established by famed Bavarian ski legend, this museum has become an incredible tribute to preserving cultural heritage. Learn how people lived and worked hundreds of years ago while exploring traditional handicrafts and local nature.
There's also a beer garden, which is a good spot to indulge in the German tradition of “coffee and cake” and try some of the delicious sweets that Germany is so famous for.

When you arrive at the other lake on the way, have lunch at the Bräustüberl restaurant in the castle. It serves traditional Bavarian cuisine for over 300 years.

Take a fascinating journey back in time to Tegernsee Abbey! Established over 1200 years ago and originally dedicated to Saint Quirinus, the former Benedectine monastery now forms part of a castle complex that includes the Bräustüberl where you just had lunch.
It is also home to a Catholic parish church honouring St. Quirinius since 1803 along with many other attractions including the Gymnasium school and well-known Ducal Bavarian Brewery.

Go for a short walk along the lake Tegernsee shore to enjoy the vistas at its finest and burn off some of your hearty Bavarian lunch.
While looking at nearby mountains and listening to the calming sounds of water lapping against the shore, it's easy to see why Lake Tegernsee is so popular and attractive.

Drive around the lake to savour each and every angle of it. Indescribably gorgeous views await you around every bend.
One of the stops on the road where you can stop and enjoy the fresh lake breeze is definitely the Bad Wiessee promenade – a 5 km long promenade that frames turquoise-blue waters and majestic mountain views. It provides plenty to explore, from an adventure playground to music pavilions and more!

Along the way back, you can stop in a cosy restaurant at the brewery inn and have a hearty dinner. What is better at the end of the intense day, than a traditional Bavarian cuisine? All the more reason to try Bavarian dishes a second time in one day.
