Welcome to Taranto
The city has an ancient history dating back to the eighth century BC! The archaeological findings place it even in the Bronze and Iron Age, then 3500 BC. ! You will be able to penetrate into the "bowels of the earth", cross the "underground passages", visit the very important "local museums", witnesses of a time that was!
You will be able to see the various military bases. Make excursions by boat, thrilling to the sight of dolphins and spend a few hours on the island of San Pietro in the Cheradi islands. Taste the wines and local dishes. Renting a car you will be able to reach the waterfall in the beautiful Gravina di Riggio!
This project has been realised by Rosanna Pascazio, student of the ITS Course - Trani Campus "Digitalisation and digital creativity in tourism and cultural activities" (A.A. 2021-2022), within the Module "Digital storytelling workshop: narrative scripts for the cultural valorisation of the territory", coordinated by Elisa Bonacini.

Boat trip to the Cheradi and waterfall in the Riggio's Ravine
Few people know the Cheradi islands near Taranto, consisting of the island of San Pietro on which you can spend a few hours quietly in the sun, and the island of San Paolo with its Pygmy Lighthouse! Already the name says a lot about its greatness! And the Fort de Laclos, you'll find out on which of the two islands it is located!
After a typical fish lunch, you can drive to the Gravina di Riggio and admire the waterfall! It may not be there in summer, so its visit is recommended in spring.
