Sights of Vyborg, Kirch

The day begins with a visit to the market square in Vyborg. The main attraction of the square is the Round Tower. It was built in 1547-1550 and acted as a defensive structure. Here was signed an agreement between Charles IX and Vasily Shuisky on military assistance of Sweden to Russia - "The Tract of Vyborg". Now in the building of the tower there is a restaurant.
Another historical building nearby is a market building. It was built by a Finno-Swedish architect in 1904-1905 in the Northern Art Nouveau style.

Then you can move on to the burgher's manor. The building was built in the 16th century. The manor includes a stone house and a carriage house. On the first floor of the house there used to be a workshop and a warehouse, on the second floor - kitchen and meeting rooms, and the third floor was a sleeping area. Now there is a museum composition and a souvenir store.
The carriage house had stables, a warehouse of hay and various implements, as well as carts. Now there is a restaurant.

You will be transported to the Middle Ages and walk through the streets of the Old Town. You will see the oldest house of the XV century, the Clock Tower, the Town Hall, the monument to Thorgils Knutsson - the founder of Vyborg Castle.

The monument to the Vyborg streetcar was opened in 2018 and serves as a prototype of the streetcar that ran in Vyborg in 1912.
There is a small coffee house in the streetcar, where you can relax, have a cup of coffee and take beautiful pictures.

It is impossible not to visit the main attraction of the city - Vyborg Castle. It was built by the Swedes in 1293 during the Third Swedish Crusade. Now the Vyborg Local History Museum is located there, where various household items of those times, photographs, military uniforms, weapons, various documents, instruments of torture and much more are kept!
Also on the territory of the castle is the tower of St. Olaf - the tallest building in Vyborg. You can go up to the tower's observation deck, where you can enjoy a stunning view of the city.

Lunch will be held in an unusual restaurant, the interior of which resembles a dungeon. The menu features Russian and European dishes. Here you can taste the royal soup!

The oldest cathedral in the city is worth a visit. Alas, today it remains only in ruins. It was built in the XV century, and at the moment historians do not know exactly what the cathedral looked like. In its history, it was catalytic, Lutheran, and Orthodox.

In Primorsk, visit another church designed by Josef Stenbeck in 1902-1904 in the Northern Art Nouveau style.
Now in the building of the church is located the Primorsky Museum of Local Lore, which includes several exhibition halls: Finnish fishing village Koivisto, military exposition, history of the church building and the life of immigrants.
On Monday the museum exhibition is closed, but nothing will prevent you from seeing the exterior of the church.

The trip ends with a dinner at an Asian restaurant in St. Petersburg. The chef of the restaurant is Glen Ballis.
