    Zámok Topoľčianky

Relish your lunch on the courtyard terrace of this impressive castle.
Topoľčianky Castle originated in the 13th century and by the 16th century, the castle became a bulwark against the Ottoman expansion.
By the early 19th century, the castle was redeveloped by Count Ján Keglevič, with a strong emphasis on classical architectural design. So beautiful was the castle that it became the summer residence of the Czechoslovakian presidents during the period between the two world wars.

    Kaštieľ Brodzany

Brodzany Manor House was built in the Renaissance style during the 17th century in response to the nobility's movement away from fortified castles to the more comfortable manor houses and chateaus.
Brodzany was adapted during the 18th and 19th centuries, taking on more Baroque and Romantic styling to reflect the fashions of the day.
The manor was home to the sister of the Russian poet, Alexander Pushkin, and Brodzany now houses the AS Puškin Slavic Museum (SMASP), which focuses on the poet's influence on Slovak literature.

    Nitriansky hrad

Perched on a strategic position guarding the Nitra River, Nitra Castle was built on a Great Moravian settlement that dated back to at least 871. Like the settlement at Devin, Nitra also played its part in the mission of Saints Cyril and Methodius.
The castle that was built on this site had to withstand an onslaught from the Mongol-Tartars in 1241 and 1242. The castle's luck, however, ran out during the rebellion of Matthew Csak, who burned down the fortress in the early 14th century. The defences were rebuilt and enlarged and were ready by the 15th century to play its part in the Hussite Wars, then a century later during the Ottoman raids

    Palace Art Hotel

    Food
Before concluding your castle odyssey, enjoy a well deserved meal in the vaults of the Pezinok Castle, now the Palace Art Hotel.
The first mention of the castle was in 1271, which suggests that Pezinok Castle was established in response to the Mongol-Tartar invasion thirty years earlier. The ramparts then played their part repulsing attackers during the Hussite Wars and Turkish raids, but today, these same walls welcome people in to its premium hotel and restaurant.
