    Parkeerplaats De Bleek

Finally, you have arrived in a place called Doesburg. Although nobody really knows exactly where The Achterhoek really starts, Doesburg is considered one of the border towns. And it is a very pretty town with historical buildings and canals. A great place to get lost for a while. You can park your car here, and go further on foot.

    Standbeeld Normaal

The Dutch rock group 'Normaal' is very famous in its own country. They are considered the founders of 'farmer rock'. It's one of the few acts that sings in a local dialect. The band was founded in 1974. During the live performances there is a lot of beer throwing going on, which, in this case, is a good thing. Listen to their breakthrough song here

    Het Wapen van Heeckeren

You can park your car here at het Wapen van Heeckeren. It's the restaurant where you are going to have your dinner today. But it is also a great place to relax and enjoy nature. From here you can walk right into the forest for a little stroll, while passing some beautiful farms.
Or stay on the premises and see the farm animals. There is a playground for kids to enjoy as well. If you are ready to eat you can check out the menu and you will see that there is a lot to choose from. The staff is very friendly and will help you with recommendations. But because the chef of this restaurant really is one of the bests, it doesn't really matter what you pick because it all tastes amazing. She works a lot with local products, that are freshly bought.
Beware the restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
