    Arctic Convoy Museum

    During the Second World War, the picturesque and isolated Loch Ewe was actually a buzzing centre of naval operations. For it was from this loch that the Russian Arctic convoys set sail, providing the struggling Soviet Union a desparate lifeline in their fight against the Nazis.
    This small museum is crammed with information, photographs and relics, and does a great job in celebrated the brave heroes that sailed this most dangerous route.

    Inverewe Garden

    These botanical gardens are sited in a strange microclimate. Warmed by the North Atlantic Drift, many different types of vegetation are allowed to flourish here, which would normally only grow much further south.
    The garden was created in 1862, covering 20 hectares (49 acres), and boasts of over 2,500 exotic plants and flowers.
    Inverewe also has an excellent cafe and is the perfect place to have your lunch.
