In a magical setting overlooked by the sea, the Punta Nariga lighthouse is the most modern lighthouse in Galicia. Built in 1995 by César Portela, it is 50 metres high, has a light range of 22 miles, and one of its triangular bases simulates the prow of a ship entering the sea. The prow is crowned by a bronze sculpture by Manolo Coia called 'O soño do emigrante' (the emigrant's dream).

Not as visited as the previous one, you will still be struck by its beauty. Located in a wild and ghostly setting, it owes its name to the roar of the waves crashing against the cliffs. It is precisely the strength of these waters and their characteristics that make the goose barnacles of this area considered the best in Galicia.

Beautiful and unique, this beach gets its name from the small pieces of coloured polished glass that flood the sand. Although it is a very visited site, in the past this small cove was used as a rubbish dump. Then, all kinds of glass waste were thrown into its waters, but over time, the erosion of the sea and the wind were polishing the crystals and dragging them to the shore.

This stretch of unspoilt coastline is one of the most spectacular on the Costa da Morte. Although it is not the most suitable for bathing due to the strength of the Atlantic waves, do stop and photograph its incomparable natural beauty.
This inlet is 'guilty' of the name of this coast, as its history is marked by several shipwrecks. The most tragic is that of the English training ship Serpent, which sank on 10 November 1890 at Punta do Boi, killing 172 of its 175 crew members. The victims are buried in the nearby Cemetery of the English (Cemiterio dos Ingleses).

For many, this is the most beautiful spot on the Costa da Morte. Cabo Vilán was the first lighthouse to be built in Spain with electric light, and its location (atop cliffs over 100 metres high) will leave you open-mouthed. The museum inside, which is free, tells the history of the Costa da Morte.

The panoramic view from the westernmost lighthouse in Europe will leave you speechless. Erected in 1853 to mark this key geographical point in Atlantic navigation, its octagonal tower measures 17 metres, and its lantern, situated 138 metres above sea level, reaches more than 30 nautical miles. Its lamps emit a flash every 5 seconds. The 'Lighthouse at the End of the Earth' does not disappoint.
