    SS Baron Innerdale crew monument

SS Baron Innerdale massacre is still marked as one of the deadliest events in history of the region that occurred during 1905 when a ship lost its route and the crew headed to Masirah Island for refuge. All the seventeen crew members were killed by the locals, who were later convicted.
To honor the innocent people killed, this monument is standing tall since the 1970s on the tip of the island where the horrific incident took place. Locals welcome tourists who visit the site to their homes and offer food as compensation for how badly their ancestors treated the foreign crew on the island.
