Under the leadership of Dutch craftsmen Brant, Kort and Klass a funny squadron was built on Pleshcheyevo Lake: two frigates, three yachts, a galley and smaller vessels. According to Petr, "the courts are all good".
On May 1, 1692, the funny flotilla was launched. Its appearance was met by a volley of guns, which heralded the birth of the Russian Navy. In the summer of 1692 on Pleshcheevo Lake was held Russia's first naval feast, during which the ships demonstrated various maneuvers and techniques of combat.
On February 7, 1722 Peter I issued a decree ordering to keep forever the remains of ships, yachts and galleys built for Pereyaslavl lake and on which the tsar first studied marine affairs. Ships were kept in the Fish Sloboda on the Trubezh River, where they were burned in 1783. By a lucky coincidence, "Fortuna" was at the shipyard in Veskovo and survived.
Besides the fact that the lake is rich in history, it is very beautiful, you will get just magical pictures!
