"Technical" history of Tsarskoye Selo, factory ruins, wakeboarding and a bathhouse

Catherine Palace, Alexandrovsky Park, White Tower - all these Pushkin sights you've seen a hundred times.
But you've hardly looked at the History and Literature Museum. And in vain, because the exposition "History of Tsarskoye Selo" tells about many amazing facts from the life of the city.
Did you know that Tsarskoye Selo was the most technically advanced city in pre-revolutionary Russia? In the museum you will learn about the construction of all kinds of hydraulic structures and water supply, sewerage and the first treatment facilities in Russia. And at the beginning of the XX century the construction of the first passenger railway in the country began here, and in the east of the city the most powerful radio station in Russia appeared.

On the bank of the Neva River on the outskirts of the village of Saperny are the ruins of the plant "Lenspirtstroy". It was built in 1935 to produce technical alcohols. During the Great Patriotic War the factory building housed the headquarters of several units and a hospital, and in the middle of the war it was destroyed.
Today, from a powerful factory left only the ruins, which were often used as a film set of "Lenfilm". The building is beautiful and doomed to live its age, occasionally receiving curious guests.
