Lakes and rocks of the Sverdlovsk region

All Ekaterinburgers (and not only) know about Ganina Yama, nevertheless this place will be interesting to visit even for the hundredth time. According to the Russian Orthodox Church, the remains of the executed members of the royal family, headed by Emperor Nicholas II, rest on the site of the abandoned Iset mine.
In 2000, on these lands was established a male monastery. Now in the complex there are seven temples - by the number of murdered members of the royal family. There is also a museum of the royal belongings, a bell tower and household quarters.
Ganina Yama is not only a pilgrimage center, but also a great place for a morning walk: the smell of pine, birdsong and the feeling of solitude will give you vigor and a great mood.
The cloister is open from 06:30, the museum is open every day from 11:00 to 16:30. Handkerchiefs and skirts for visiting the complex are available at the entrance, men should preferably be in pants and a shirt with long sleeves.

After Ganina Yama monastery you should take a course to the village of Koptyaki, then drive along Lake Iset to the settlement of Iset. You can get by car directly to Gorodishche, but it is better to leave transport in the village and walk to the rocks (a distance of about 6 km).
The road itself is a separate adventure, and the reward is the amazing views of the mountains.

Devil's Mound is a majestic rock on top of the mountain of the same name. The mighty granite ridge attracts climbers, geologists and all intrepid nature lovers. Our ancestors must have considered this place a sanctuary, as at the foot of the stone ridge archaeologists have found shards of pottery, copper sheets and pendants-amulets.

Let's go back to the village for the car and go on to Sand Lake.

The road to Sand Lake is very difficult and not every car can do it, so the most reliable way to get there is to go back from the rocks to the Iset to the parked car and drive to the lake from the south side through the village of Severka on ECAD or on urban roads.
The sand lake is perhaps the most picturesque place in the vicinity of Yekaterinburg. It is surrounded by pine forests, huge boulders between trees and mountain peaks on the horizon.
