Saint Petersburg - Gatchina - Veliky Novgorod

The Lutheran community in this place dates back to 1647 during the Swedish rule, and the first wooden church was erected here in the early 18th century. The current church building dates back to the middle of the 19th century.
The stone church in pseudo-Gothic style was founded in 1861 by Eduard Lvovich Ghana. In Soviet times, the church was closed, and only in 1991 it was noticed and restored. Two dates can be found on the facade of the building: 1861 and 1991.

The beginning of construction of the Church of the Holy Trinity is considered 1826. The Church was erected on the money of Olga Konstantinovna, the widow of the secret adviser Fyodor Briskorn, in memory of her husband. The church is made in the Empire style. It is shaped like an oval, framed by 12 columns. Today it looks more like the ruins of an ancient temple than an Orthodox church.
There is a legend that Olga Konstantinovna erected this temple not so much in memory of her husband, as to conceal their sins, as rumors go that she was despotic and could torture the serfs to death. And the rapid destruction of the temple shows that her soul was left without forgiveness.

In the past, the estate belonged to A.S. Pushkin's great-grandfather - Abram Petrovich Hannibal. The exposition of the estate consists of several sections, the main of which is dedicated to AP Hannibal and his numerous descendants.
