You are in Aveiro! Park your car at this parking lot, and explore Costa Nova, its signature site, and the beach.

Costa Nova is an oceanfront charming village on a long peninsula with the lagoon on one side and the Atlantic on the other.
Costa Nova was a fishing village before, and there’s a reminder of that time in its cute weatherboard cottages, painted with vertical stripes.
Now there are little hotels, shops and a market in some of these houses.
Walk along the promenade and check it all out!

Have a great delicious lunch here at Costa Nova Beach and enjoy the view! It's a nice place to enjoy local food, and have a nice relaxing time by the ocean.

You can skip the beach of course, but why? It has a nice wooden walking path - have a stroll and make a wish - the wind of changes will catch it and make it come true!

Walk back to the car park to pick up your vehicle. Now you should head towards the city.

In the 20th century emigrants who had made their fortunes in Brazil returned to Aveiro and built themselves stylish houses in the Art Nouveau style.
Some elegant properties to look out for are the Casa do Major Pessoa, now the Art Nouveau Museum, and the ones with lovely wrought iron gates and balconies.

You'll notice many beautiful colorful boats cruising along the canals. Those are Moliceiros. They were originally made to harvest seaweed in the lagoon.
Board a maliceiro for a 45-minute city tour via the canal! The paintings on the bow and stern depict traditional scenes around Aveiro, and on the journey, you’ll get a story of the city along its canals and by the salt farms that border the lagoon.

This is a no ordinary mall! It's built on the canal with the bridges over a long central walkaway, has two-story galleries, and a classical design.
Even if you are not interested in shopping, you can admire its interior and have a nice lunch on the rooftop! Bon appetite!

Come back to the parking lot to find your car. You will have a little trip to see the old porcelain factory!

The Vista Alegre porcelain factory is 200 years old!
It’s a gigantic complex with the factory itself, a 17th-century palace, a chapel, and an entire residential quarter built for workers with its own theatre.
The museum is in former factory buildings and has just been given a makeover.
You'll have a tour and know the history of the Vista Alegre company, as well as the porcelain and the role it has played in Portuguese society.
There are more than 30,000 pieces on display, and you can see the old kilns and modern facilities that still employ 700 people.
You should definitely buy a nice porcelain piece from here!

Don't miss the opportunity to try local pastries - ovos moles!
Ovos moles are made of egg yolks and sugar. They were originally made by nuns in Aveiro’s old convents (traditionally nuns were gifted eggs by people about to get married), and the recipes were passed to the townsfolk when the religious institutions were shut down.
Inspired by the ocean, the ovos moles are made in the shapes of clams and whelk shells. Try them and grab a couple of boxes with you!
