A day on the coast of the Gulf of Finland

Leaving the city, we decided to make our first stop this weekend in the Shunger Forest. The walk here was away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with the occasional jogger or cyclist on the way. After a short picnic in the woods, we headed onward.

After passing Peterhof and leaving Kronstadt behind, we decided to stop on the shore of the Gulf of Finland at Lebyazh beach. It was not as crowded here, but it didn't dampen the experience, so after swimming and resting on the sand, we decided to continue along the coast to the west.

In the middle of the day we made a small stop in a small cozy cafe near the coast called Polyana. The assortment of dishes here is quite extensive, among this variety we liked the smoked trout, as well as pork steak with tomato paste.

After lunch we drove further along the shore of the Gulf of Finland and, after stopping at the fort Krasnaya Gorka, decided to admire the views from the observation deck, which is located on the promontory of the same name. As it turned out, it is possible to go down to the shore, where there is a small beach, but we did not swim.

If you are traveling at the weekend, be sure to stop by the Folk Museum, which is dedicated to the courage and bravery of the Baltic sailors. There is a rich exposition, there are rare exhibits - from the bottom of the sea, from the battles and artillery.

One of the most interesting places on our way is a fort called The Grey Horse. It is interesting because the famous television series "Ashes" with Vladimir Mashkov and Evgeny Mironov in the lead roles was once filmed here. It was interesting to walk around the places where the key events of the series were filmed, especially since the nature here is quiet and peaceful.

In the evening we arrived in Sosnovy Bor and decided to stop for dinner at a cozy cafe with the original name "Staraya Shkola. We liked the chef's dish here, as well as zucchini fritters with poached eggs. We didn't have to wait long for our order, so the local service is also praiseworthy.

After dinner, we went straight to the hotel. As today was very energetic and busy, we needed a good night's sleep, because tomorrow we also plan to visit many different interesting places.
