The Castles of Disney

After breakfast, leave Augsburg at 8:45, so you can reach all sightseeing until the sunset.
The first stop is Linderhof Castle. Although Linderhof's gardens are very attractive, the actual castle is tiny (as far as royal palaces go) but still worth a visit. King Ludwig put as much money and treasure within as would fit in a full-sized castle.
Open hours: Linderhof Palace is open from April – 15 October: every day from 9:00 – 18:00; 16 October – March: every day from 10:00 – 16:30. Moroccan House and Moorish Kiosk are open from 15 April – 15 October: every day from 09:00 – 18:00; closed from 14 October – 14 April Hunding's Hut and Guernemanz Hermitage are open from 15 April – 15 October: every day from 11:00 – 18:00; closed from 16 October – 14 April. The exhibition at the Royal Lodge is open from April – 15 October: every day from 11:00 – 18:00; 16 October – March: Sundays and public holidays from 12:00 – 16:30 and during Bavarian school holidays every day from 12:00 – 16:30.
The park buildings, except for the Royal Lodge, are closed in winter.

After visiting the Linderhof Castle, get back into the car and drive until you get to the parking lot next to the Hohenschwangau Castle.

Welcome to the second castle on this road. This castle was built in 1837 and was used as a private residence for King Ludwig II of Bavaria until he died in 1886. The castle was constructed at a period when fortresses like castles were no longer essential, and despite its idealized medieval style, Louis insisted that it include all the most modern conveniences.

The fairytale castle Neuschwanstein is a popular landmark in Germany. It was inspired for the Disney Cinderella Castle and Sleeping Beauty's Castle and was built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria.

If you want to have a whole other perspective of the Neuschwanstein Castle, take a walk and stop at the skywalk to observe the front of the castle.

Get back to the car and drive to the restaurant that's 5 minutes away.

The old town of Fuessen is very lively, there are many restaurants and cafes where you can linger. The pedestrian zone has beautiful buildings that tell their own stories.

Since the High Castle is closed now, you can observe it from the beautiful park and be surrounded by many trees and plants.

Whereas there is a chance to behold four different lakes, leave the car in this parking lot and walk until you get to the top where the panoramic view stretches out.

Welcome to the most amazing view of this entire trip. Look around nature and fulfill your desire to recharge your batteries. The vantage point over the valley with the 4 lakes: Hopfensee, Forggensee, Weissensee, and Bannwaldsee. You can see Neuschwanstein Castle from this spot.
Note: If the weather is rainy, skip this POI because it's not safe to go for a walk when it's slippery. Instead, you can stroll around a town.

Get back to the parking lot and drive until you get to the restaurant.
