    The last day will be about magnificent castles that will tell you the story just by looking at their edifices. You would want to get back to those times and live like an aristocrat.

    Parkplatz Schloss Linderhof

    After breakfast, leave Augsburg at 8:45, so you can reach all sightseeing until the sunset.
    The first stop is Linderhof Castle. Although Linderhof's gardens are very attractive, the actual castle is tiny (as far as royal palaces go) but still worth a visit. King Ludwig put as much money and treasure within as would fit in a full-sized castle.
    Open hours: Linderhof Palace is open from April – 15 October: every day from 9:00 – 18:00; 16 October – March: every day from 10:00 – 16:30. Moroccan House and Moorish Kiosk are open from 15 April – 15 October: every day from 09:00 – 18:00; closed from 14 October – 14 April Hunding's Hut and Guernemanz Hermitage are open from 15 April – 15 October: every day from 11:00 – 18:00; closed from 16 October – 14 April. The exhibition at the Royal Lodge is open from April – 15 October: every day from 11:00 – 18:00; 16 October – March: Sundays and public holidays from 12:00 – 16:30 and during Bavarian school holidays every day from 12:00 – 16:30.
    The park buildings, except for the Royal Lodge, are closed in winter.

    Hohenschwangau Castle

    Welcome to the second castle on this road. This castle was built in 1837 and was used as a private residence for King Ludwig II of Bavaria until he died in 1886. The castle was constructed at a period when fortresses like castles were no longer essential, and despite its idealized medieval style, Louis insisted that it include all the most modern conveniences.
