Before you leave Wurzburg, don't forget to visit two magnificent places. The first one is Residenzplatz.

The magnificent Prince-Bishop's Palace is one of Germany's greatest structures in Baroque style.
The remarkable colossal staircase hall with its enormous Tiepolo painting is the most noteworthy aspect of his significant UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was constructed between 1720 and 1944.
Another part of this imposing structure is The Residence Garden you shouldn't miss. It looks unrealistic, and you will feel like being a part of another whole world only seen in movies.

The French-style Court Garden is characterized by well-preserved rococo architecture, which is regarded as the finest maintained in all the gardens in Germany. There is a man-made lake with fountains and an exquisite sculpture of Pegasus on top.
The Court Garden is open every day until 20:00.
After observing all this beauty, get back into the car and drive to the next landmark.

This is the ideal spot to leave the car when visiting the fortress.
It's open 24/7. From 07:00 – 19:00, the fee is €3.00 per hour. From 19:00 – 07:00, the fee is €1.00 per hour.

The Lower Franconian Museum is interesting both for adults and children. It shows various aspects of life in Wurzburg, almost like the Time Travel section of medieval times. It's educational and will show how people used to live in this town.

The early 8th century construction of a tiny fort by the Franconian-Thuringian dukes is likely what originally served as the castle atop the Marienberg hill, which was first inhabited in the late Bronze Age. From the Marienberg Fortress you have a wonderful view over the whole of Würzburg, including the Main.
