Lavaux and Gruyere: Wine and Cheese in Switzerland

Your first stop today is going to be Lavaux, the region of vineyards that will blow your mind. You will also visit Gruyere, the famous village where they produce the cheese and where you will have a wonderful cheese fondue. Then you will go to Chillon Castle and enjoy a magical sunset.
    10:005 min

From here, Bourg-en-Lavaux, you are going to take the Rue de la Cornise, and you will drive between the vineyards.

Stop in this beautiful village, Saint Saphorin. It is tiny but gorgeous with its stone houses and wonderful views. There are also a couple of places where you can have a cup of wine or a coffee and enjoy the views.

    Chalet de Gruyères

It is time to have lunch, and you will have it in this mythical restaurant, Chalet de Gruyeres.
I have no doubt about the menu: cheese fondue or raclette with some wine from Lavaux. If there is any place on the planet where you should have a fondue or raclette it is here. The raclette, as the fondue, is one of the Switzerland's traditional meals.

    Gruyères Castle

The most emblematic building in the village is the Castle, from here you will have some stunning views.
It is a 13th century castle, and one of the most important in the country. It is very well-preserved, some rooms are decorated, and also has a media story projection.

    Chillon Castle

I have been many times in Switzerland, and every single time I come here. And you will understand why as soon as you get down the car. This is the castle of every child's dreams.
The castle, from the Middle Age, still preserve some murals from the 14th century.
The inside is interesting, but I recommend you to take your time outside, site and enjoy the views, and if you are lucky to get marvel with the sunset.
