Next stop of the day is the Buffalo Bill Cultural Center in Oakley. William F. Cody, aka Buffalo Bill, drifted around this part of Kansas in the 1800's hunting and feeding the crews building the Kansas Pacific Railroad. He became a legend and exemplifies the American West. The Cultural Center salutes his life and legacy through interesting artifacts and interpretive information.

Fick Fossil & History Museum houses some of the more interesting large dinosaur fossils from around Oakley and this region of Kansas. Besides fossils to peruse, they have a small gift shop, old tools, mineral specimens, and shell & mineral folk art.

Your overnight tonight is The Mining Exchange Hotel & Spa, right downtown Colorado Springs. This historic building was built in 1902 and served as a stock exchange for local mining companies. It's been repurposed into a gorgeous hotel. Get your workout in at the fitness center or unwind with a massage after all that driving.
The hotel is also just a block away from a charging station. Leave the car to charge while you check out downtown or grab dinner in the very walkable downtown.

Phantom Canyon Brewery is no ordinary brewery. With food as special as their beer, it's worthy a stop on this Wild West road trip. Especially since it's within walking distance of the hotel for the night and the charging station.
Deciding what to eat will be the hardest decision. Options include a bison patty melt, bacon mac n cheese, fried chicken and even tacos. There's literally something for everyone on the menu, including a few vegetarian options. And they are open till 2 am for late night dining.
