Melikhovo Estate, a walk on Tula and the Museum of Arms.

In Melikhovo, A.P.Chekhov's estate we will get to the very discovery. In the morning there are usually fewer visitors, so you can enjoy the atmosphere: walk around the pleasant territory and visit the outbuilding, where it was written "Seagull". On weekends you can watch performances of the local theatre in Melikhovo. Children will be interested to take part in game and interactive programs. There is a stable on the territory, and you can ride horses for an extra fee. Entrance to the museum paid. Excursions should be ordered in advance on site. Monday's a day off. Last Friday of the month is a health day.

We'll stop at Oka's observation deck. From here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the river, the city and the railway bridge. Perfect place to pause and get some fresh air.

We will have lunch in a restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. In summer you can stay at tables on the street and admire the view of St. Nicholas Cathedral. During the cold season it will be nice to have a snack in a stylish room. The next stop is already in Tula.

The first place to visit in Tula is Metalistov pedestrian street. One of the oldest streets in the city, in the XVI century it was called Pyatnitskaya Street, as it begins at the Pyatnitskiye Gate of the Kremlin. In the XVIII century there were barbers, taverns, a living room yard, a beer house and many benches. At the beginning of the XX century, one of the street buildings housed the Union of Metal Workers. Now you can see several historical buildings of XVIII-XIX centuries. Many of them belonged to local merchants and their families. The street is part of the Museum Quarter in Tula.

Tula is rightly considered the city of gunsmiths, so it would be a mistake not to visit the Museum of Arms. It consists of two branches: a helmet building and a museum in the Kremlin. The 5-storey helmet building was opened relatively recently, in 2012. It offers a large-scale exhibition of weapons from the Middle Ages to the present day. It will be interesting for both adults and children, the museum has a lot of interactive and children's play areas. Tickets to children's play areas are better bought immediately, in the ticket office on the 1st floor. Several times a day a film about the history of weapons and military affairs is broadcast on the dome of the hall of "Glory". There are also excursions in the museum. From Monday to Wednesday and on Sunday the helmet building is open from 10:00 to 18:00, the cash desk is open until 17:00. Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 to 20:00. Cashier's office - until 19:00. I recommend to visit the museum on Thursday, Friday or Saturday to have time to examine all the expositions.

Next, we'll go to Lenin Square. This is the main square of the city, where the government building is located, and on holidays there are folk festivals and fairs. There is a music fountain on the square in the warm season, in the evening the lighting is on and you can watch the light show. In winter, the central city ice rink is usually flooded here.

Just next to the fountain there is a monument to the Tula gingerbread, one of the symbols of the city. Here adults can have a rest, and children can ride on swings and carousels.

You can have dinner at Café Chocolate. It has a warm atmosphere and a menu to suit every taste. And good desserts, too. I suggest you get hot chocolate or at least coffee with the dessert.
