Serednikovo Estate, house-museum of P.I. Tchaikovsky and a walk around Tver

In his youth Mikhail Lermontov spent his summers in Serednikovo. He wrote many poems and poems here.

Russia's oldest music memorial museum appeared in 1894. Here the composer lived the last 1.5 years of his life and wrote his Sixth Symphony.
You will see diaries, manuscripts, photographs and personal belongings of P. I. Tchaikovsky. There is also a large collection of his contemporaries' works. The manor retains the atmosphere of the late 19th century.

The museum is open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The ticket office is open until 17:00. Weekends are Wednesday and Thursday. Last Monday of the month - sanitary day.

It was built in 1895 designed by a St. Petersburg engineer. The bridge was solemnly opened in 1900, the passage through it was free. At that time it was called "New", and the pavement was wooden. After the fire of 1773 stone buildings appeared near the embankment of Afanasy Nikitin. Many of them can still be seen today.
Later on the bank of the river a garden was laid out. Once on the embankment was a monastery of XIII century - Otroch. Of the entire complex, only the Church of the Assumption has survived.
In the 30s, the River Station was built on the site of the ancient monastery. Unfortunately, in 2017 the beautiful building partially collapsed.

Not everyone knows that the traveler and author of the "Journey Beyond Three Seas" was born in Tver, in a peasant family. He became a merchant and became interested in trade routes and the economy of other countries.
From Tver, Athanasius Nikitin began his journey to Persia and the Turkish state. He became the first European to reach India.
Vasco da Gama, the discoverer of the sea route to the "island of spices", got there 30 years later.
A monument was erected on the seafront in 1955.
