The father of modern electricity, Thomas Edison, lived and worked here for many years. Almost all modern inventions and achievements of civilization today exist thanks to this great man. And the electric car you drove here can be considered part of his legacy.
After the death of Thomas Edison in 1931, his family kept his home intact so that coming generations could see the place where the future was created. Even the clock in the house shows the time when its owner died.
The museum collection includes about 300,000 exhibits that tell the story of Thomas Edison’s life. One of the most interesting is the recreated Black Mary. This is the very first place in history where movies were filmed. Yes, cinema originated here as well!
The museum is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Masks are required for everyone, regardless of vaccination status, in all NPS buildings, crowded outdoor spaces, and all forms of enclosed public transportation.

Hiking clothes and Nordic walking poles will come in handy here. The hiking trails in this park have a lot of surprises for you.
Here you'll find amazing natural formations and huge stones set in whimsical compositions, and it looks as if they were made by a giant's hands. As you walk through the park, you will come across various natural rarities like Whale Head Rock, Bear Rock, Tripod Rock, and the stunning Lucy's Overlook.
The visitor center offers several routes, and the most interesting will take you about 2.5 hours and covers 4 miles.
