    Forza Ferrari!

Today is all about following the story of the Prancing Horse from its glorious past at the official museum to its high-performance present on a tour of the factory. You'll also drive the incredible roads favoured by Ferrari's test drivers and finish the day in the place where the story began, at Enzo Ferrari's home.

    Museum Ferrari Maranello

The cars are the obvious stars, but the most fascinating part of the Museo Ferrari is the exhibit dedicated to Enzo himself.
You’ll see his private letters, his first race cars, his overalls and helmets, even a recreation of his office, complete with a slightly creepy waxwork of Il Commendatore. It’s a brilliant insight into the mind of the man who would become legend.
The hall of champions is home to Ferrari’s winning F1 cars, its drivers and their trophies, while beyond that are galleries of some of the most iconic road cars in the world.
Just wander through and you can tick off 250GTs, F40s, F50s, Enzos and LaFerraris.
The factory tour is highly recommended, not least because you can be driven round a lap of the famous Fiorano circuit where every Prancing Horse is tested.
The museum is open from 09.30-19.00 between April and October and 09.30-18.00 from November to March. Information on ticket prices and tours is available on the official website.

    Ferrari's Favourite Test Route

Now that you've discovered how Ferraris are designed and built it's time to put yourself in the hot seat and take a Detour to where Ferrari's test drivers put the cars through their paces. Even the great Enzo himself would drive this route SS12 to see how his cars handled the prolific number of bends.

    Passo Abetone

The SS12 Abetone Pass is a favourite for its challenging curves, steep climbs and descents.
If you're lucky you might even catch sight of one of the Prancing Horses getting its exercise – just don't try to keep up!

    Ristorante Pizzeria Il Pinguino

Pick up a proper Pizza lunch at Il Pinguino which serves traditional Tuscan cuisine adjacent to a campsite with lovely woodland views. In the winter it serves hungry skiers, but drivers are just as welcome.
