The museum is housed in a former merchant's mansion. It is the only preserved manor house in the Trans-Urals in the style of classicism. The museum will tell us about the city of Kurgan from its foundation until 1917, as well as about its inhabitants, especially you will learn a lot about Kurgan merchants and cultural life of the city (even theatrical and musical programs have been carefully preserved here). The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00 (lunch from 13:00 to 14:00). Sunday and Monday are weekends.

The museum is located in the house where Decembrist M.M. Naryshkin and his family lived from 1833 to 1837.
This house was one of the richest houses in the county town, and after its purchase by the Naryshkins, Decembrists and local intellectuals met here. Now the museum has restored the interiors of the rooms of that time.
Please note that the museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday and Sunday are not open.

The Epiphany Cathedral in Kurgan, one of the most beautiful temples in the Trans-Urals, was built in 2007-2014 in the likeness of a 17th century temple - the Cathedral of the Nativity of John the Baptist in Uglich.
